Our Roots
Hi everybody,
So I’ve been on-and-off Tumblr a lot recently, but for the last two...

“I am the Hart King of these woods”, said he. “Do you understand? The Heart King. When my hooves shake...
Some may call this pretty, but I don’t. While the sunset photo looks lovely, you have to realize that’s taken behind a snowbank. A HUGE snowbank. These photos were taken on Friday by our photographer/newsreporter here in Outlook, Derek Ruttle. They are from a small village not far from Outlook, called Conquest (I went to elementary and junior high school there). The top one was the visibility on Thursday afternoon as we had massive wind and snow. Next is the road closure outside Conquest. Sunset snowbank. The snow blew so hard it piled up on anything that got in the way. People had to dig paths down streets in some cases just to get around. And on highway 45, snow was piled up on the sides of the highway so high, they dwarfed vehicles like SUVs and heavy duty pickup trucks.
The Way I See It: NaNoWriMo, November Rain, writing and stuff (by Tim Holtorf)
Here, you get a video instead of a blog post. This is all about my adventures in writing for this year’s NaNoWriMo, and a short (maybe five seconds) glimpse at my facial hair. I’d love to participate in Movember, but I’m lazy and would have had to shave it all off to begin with. Also… snow! And Rain! Snowy-rain. Which translates into ice. Yeah, that happened overnight.

According to Environment Canada, the temperature is going to drop.
Like a stone.
Yesterday, as the past few days have been, we’ve had relatively warm days. But expect that to change now! Especially after yesterday’s sudden squall which dumped snow all over the place. What was once a sullen brown is now an off white, as the sidewalks, streets and front lawns are all covered in white stuff.
And here I thought we’d get away from all of that for a while. A look at the coming week tells a different story.
There’s a -31 in there. As a high! AS A HIGH! That’s lower than the normals for the period, which as can be seen is -21.
Just two months now, two months and the worry of the foreboding doom that is winter will finally be behind us. Though, the pessimist in me keeps saying “don’t hold your breath, we’ve had snow in June”. Thanks inner voice, thanks.
Speaking of Snow In June, here’s the Northern Pikes with the song that was the album title.
