Some may call this pretty, but I don’t.  While the sunset photo looks lovely, you have to realize that’s taken behind a snowbank.  A HUGE snowbank.  These photos were taken on Friday by our photographer/newsreporter here in Outlook, Derek Ruttle.  They are from a small village not far from Outlook, called Conquest (I went to elementary and junior high school there).  The top one was the visibility on Thursday afternoon as we had massive wind and snow.  Next is the road closure outside Conquest.  Sunset snowbank.  The snow blew so hard it piled up on anything that got in the way.  People had to dig paths down streets in some cases just to get around.  And on highway 45, snow was piled up on the sides of the highway so high, they dwarfed vehicles like SUVs and heavy duty pickup trucks.

Sick of winter in four part photo series that I have called “Arrrrrrrrrgh!”.

Hoarfrost on the lilac bush behind the shop where I work.

For examples of hoar frost, just look at the pictures.

An afternoon walk past the town offices here in Outlook.

Taken on Friday afternoon, February 8, 2013.

It was time to break out the fall jacket and get a sweater, so I drove home over lunch hour and picked up a bunny hug and my leather.  It is cold and rainy today.

Last one for the day, featuring the sky and the sun as it gets ready to set.  I almost didn’t take these photos.  I was just going to leave them and try again another day.  As it turned out, the lighting was really good, and the colours came out really nice.

Facing west again.

Looking west where there’s some really colourful trees down toward the river.

Yeah, I really like that back alley.  It’s very pretty in any season.

Across the street from my block, the Mid Sask Regional Development office.  Used to be the head office of Quadra, which was a pig farm operation.  Mid Sask helps with business development in the region.

Even the parking lot behind my place can be extremely pretty, especially after an autumn rain like we had today.  I didn’t smell like the usual autumn rain, it smelled like a spring rain.

The street going down to the regional park just down the road from my apartment.

For some reason, I like the look of the back alley just down the block, especially in autumn colours.
